McCown Valley Park is approximately 3000 acres with several miles of trails that is on Corps of Engineer land. Soil is mostly sandy and is barefoot friendly. Trails are well marked and color-coded. Be sure to stay on the designated trails. DO NOT VENTURE OFF ANY TRAIL. There is a tendency to have boggy areas and you or your animal could get bogged down. The land is leased to a cattle man. There are 32 hookups ($30/night) with water and electricity. Some are pull-throughs and some are back ins. Pens can be set up at your campsite. If camping primitively, contact Sylvia Perry. There will be designated areas for primitive camping ($10/night) for generators and those without generators if you do not wish to use an electrical site. There are bathrooms with showers and toilets on site. BE SURE TO WEAR BRIGHT COLORD SHIRTS ON THE RIDE, SINCE THIS IS BOW SEASON FOR DEER HUNTERS.
Junior Riders are only responsible for paying the $10 TTCC fee when riding with an adult.
