Salute to the Troops 

Location:  C Bar Ranch, Valley Mills.

Salute to Our Troops Ride!  It’s always a good way to end our season by celebrating our military veterans.  We are looking forward to reconnecting with our trail buddies, socializing around the campfire, enjoying chicken fried steak and the trails at C Bar ranch.

Kris, Ann & Sharon will be at C Bar the Thursday prior to the ride, if you are interested in coming early to enjoy the trails, let us know. The ranch fee is $10 per day to ride.  Limited electric sites. The wait list goes by the date/time it was requested. Bunks in the bunkhouse – $30 a weekend.

We want to encourage everyone to decorate their campsite in a patriotic theme. Flags, bunting or whatever you feel expresses your appreciation for our Veterans. We will be adding a fun exciting and challenging twist to Saturday’s ride

General Information and Requirements:

Everyone must show proof of current negative Coggins test.  Dispose of manure as instructed.  Shoes or boots suggested.

Meals:

Due to the success of our “soup kitchen” with a baked potato bar.  Kris and Ann will provide baked potatoes, bowls, spoons and napkins.   As we get closer to the event, we will suggest items to make the pot luck easier for you.  Last year we had awesome soups!

                                    The leftover’s will be Saturday’s lunch, as usual!

Catered meals will be 2 breakfasts available for purchase Saturday & Sunday morning and Chicken fried steak on Saturday!

Cancellation policy:2.5 — Ride-Fee Cancellation Policy (From the rule book)

If you cancel:

2 weeks (14+ days) prior to ride– full refund

1 week (7 days) prior to ride– 50%

Less than 1 week (7 days)– no refund

If Management cancels the ride, you will receive a full refund.

Ranch Fees:  $10 per day

If not a member of TTCC you must purchase a daily membership at $10 or a full membership for $30, payable to TTCC.

Each person registering for a ride must have a separate login and password. You cannot register your relative on your login, you must create a separate login with a separate email address and register them separately. The comment section cannot be used for registering another individual.  This is necessary to maintain an accurate count of riders registered for a ride.

In the case of a full ride, you can be added to the waitlist by contacting Ann Stacy at [email protected] .

Your payment 30 days prior to the date of the ride will confirm your reservation.  Otherwise, your slot will be opened for another rider and your name will be added to the wait list.  Other payment arrangements can be made by contacting the Ride Manager directly.

Please use the comment section to state your preference for lodging, meals, and electric sites. All reservations for the bunkhouse and electric sites will be coordinated through the Ride Manager – Ann Stacy.

Directions:

From the North:
Take I-35 South towards Hillsboro. Exit Spur TX 579 West to downtown Hillsboro. Take the first right past the Court House on Highway 22 through the town of Whitney. Cross the Lake Whitney Dam and at the first flashing light turn left on FM 56 towards Valley Mills. Go about 13 miles and turn right on County Road 3350.

From the South:

Take I-35 to Waco the take Highway 6 North approximately 30 miles to Valley Mills. Once in Valley Mills go through the only blinking light in town and turn right on FM 56 going to Lake Whitney Dam. Travel approximately four miles and turn left on County Road 3350.

Take the first immediate left on Private Road 3348 at C-Bar Ranch sign. Drive through the cattle guard for registration and Negative Coggins check.
