Salute to the Troops

We will be honoring Veterans Day on Saturday.  Wear your Patriotic colors.!

Electric sites are limited – a waiting list is started. Primitive camping is free. Generators are allowed. Bunk house is available.  Saturday night will be a Veteran’s program to honor our military.

Keep in mind, all dogs must be on a leash.  Horse water is provided at community tank.

Shoes or boots are highly recommended.  Proof of negative Coggins required and will be checked at registration check-in.  We will ride unless it’s lightning or storming.  Don’t let the weather discourage you.

We want to encourage everyone to decorate their campsite in a patriotic theme.  Flags, bunting or whatever you feel expresses your appreciation for our Veterans.

Plus, we will have our “Soup Kitchen” dinner on Friday night with left overs for Saturday lunch!  It amazes us at how successful this has been.   Soup and chilly weather are perfect.

General Information and Requirements:

Everyone must show proof of negative Coggins test.  All dogs must be on a leash.  No dogs in the pavilion during meal times.  Scatter your manure.  Pick up your trash.  Do not attach your horse pen to any permanent structure on the property such as fences.  There will be designated areas for generator & non-generator use.

Meals:  Saturday and Sunday will be catered breakfasts.  Saturday evening will be catered chicken fried steak!    Prices will be posted as the ride approaches.

New for 2023 – Buddy Riders may no longer register online. You can register by contacting the Ride Manager, Ann Stacy, via email and request to be put on the Buddy list.  All registered riders not paid in full by 30 days out will be released. We will then take Buddy Riders in order from the waitlist.  You will hear directly from the Ride Secretary with a confirmation letter. If you want a guaranteed spot, please register as Scout and get a scorecard!

Registration opens on the first of the month 90 days prior to ride (8/1/2023).

In the case of a full ride, you can be added to the waitlist by contacting the ride manager, Ann Stacy, directly.

Each person registering for a ride must have a separate login and password. You cannot register your relative on your login, you must create a separate login with a separate email address and register them separately. The comment section cannot be used for registering another individual.  This is necessary to maintain an accurate count of riders registered for a ride.

Your payment received 30 days prior to the ride secures your reservation.  If your payment is not received 30 days prior to the ride (10/10/23), your name will be moved to the waiting list.

Cancellation policy:

2.5 — Ride-Fee Cancellation Policy (From the rule book)

If you cancel:

2 weeks (14+ days) prior to ride– full refund

1 week (7 days) prior to ride– 50%

Less than 1 week (7 days)– no refund

If Management cancels  the ride, you will receive a full refund. 

If you have to cancel, scroll down and click, “cancel my reservation”.  Make certain you contact the ranch host and cancel any reservations you made directly with them for lodging arrangements.

Additional Fees: 

If not a member of TTCC you must purchase a daily membership at $10 ($20 for 2 days) or a full membership for $30, payable to TTCC.

Directions to ranch: 

From the North:
Take I-35 South towards Hillsboro. Exit Spur TX 579 West to downtown Hillsboro. Take the first right past the Court House on Highway 22 through the town of Whitney. Cross the Lake Whitney Dam and at the first flashing light turn left on FM 56 towards Valley Mills. Go about 13 miles and turn right on County Road 3350.

From the South:

Take I-35 to Waco the take Highway 6 North approximately 30 miles to Valley Mills. Once in Valley Mills go through the only blinking light in town and turn right on FM 56 going to Lake Whitney Dam. Travel approximately four miles and turn left on County Road 3350.

Take the first immediate left on Private Road 3348 at C-Bar Ranch sign. Drive through the cattle guard for registration and Negative Coggins check.
