Parrie Haynes Ranch is located on 1500 acres in Killeen, TX.  The campground has RV sites with pens, cabins with pens, and primitive camping area with some pens.  Trails are well marked and have challenging terrain, smooth single track and water crossing if we have rain.  Ride is approximately 8.5 miles long, and using all that Parrie Haynes has to offer – single track thru trees, technical trails along stream beds and hills.  Boot or shoes recommended.

General Information and Requirements:

Everyone must show proof of negative Coggins test for the horse you registered to ride.  ALL dogs must be on a leash.  No dogs in the pavilion during meal times.  Pick up your trash.  Do not attach your horse pen to any permanent structure on the property such as fences.  There will be designated areas for generator and non-generator use.

All Junior Riders (under the age of 18) must wear a helmet at ALL times while horseback. Regardless if on trail or in camp.

Dinner option for Saturday – a food truck will be available from 4:30 – 6:30pm. The food truck is called Street Spuds Food Truck and will offer loaded baked potatoes and nachos.

We will have ice cream on Sunday during the awards!

Sunday afternoon – freeze branding will be available for $75 per horse. Contact Kate for more details.

Buddy Riders may no longer register online. You can register by contacting the Ride Secretary via email and request to be put on the Buddy list.  All registered riders not paid in full by 30 days out will be released. We will then take Buddy Riders in order from the waitlist.  You will hear directly from the Ride Secretary with a confirmation letter. If you want a guaranteed spot, please register as Scout and get a scorecard!

Registration opens on the first of the month 90 days prior to ride (11/01/2024).

In the case of a full ride, you can be added to the waitlist by contacting the ride secretary directly.

Each person registering for a ride must have a separate login and password. You cannot register your relative on your login, you must create a separate login with a separate email address and register them separately. The comment section cannot be used for registering another individual.  This is necessary to maintain an accurate count of riders registered for a ride.

All registered riders not paid in full by 30 days prior to the ride will be removed from the registration list and put on the waiting list.

Cancellation policy:  Full refund up to 30 days before the ride.

If Management cancels the ride, you will receive a full refund. 

If you have to cancel, scroll down and click, “cancel my reservation”.  Make certain you contact the ranch host and cancel any reservations you made directly with them for lodging arrangements.

Additional Fees: 

If not a member of TTCC you must purchase a daily membership at $10 per day, or an annual membership for $30 for single person, or $40 for family.  Checks need to be made payable to TTCC.

Directions to ride:

From 281: Go east on 190/Interstate 14 to Fort Hood/195 South. Approx 15 miles on 195 (pass Veterans Cemetery) to 2670 (right turn only), 6 miles to N Maxdale Road – Right turn only. 2 miles up the hill on left is entrance.

From North 35: Take 190/Interstate 14 West- to Fort Hood Street/195 and turn left to a right on 2670. 6 miles to N Maxdale and then 2 miles up the hill- entrance on left.

From South 35:  Take the 195 exit and drive until you get to 2670- left turn (there is a lane) 6 miles to N Maxdale, right. 2 miles up the hill.  Entrance on left.
