This event will be an introduction to competitive trail riding and general trail safety and courtesy for youth riders only. Registration will be limited to 25 riders. Adults may ride as “silent buddy” riders.

Riders will be provided an orientation and outline of rules and procedures in the morning, then participate in an approximate 6-mile trail ride over varied terrain, with 6 judged obstacles. Judges will provide a post-ride debriefing, and awards presented to places 1st – 6th. After a lunch break, judges will work with riders in a workshop setting on specific obstacle-oriented skills addressed in the morning’s ride.

General Information and Requirements: 

Coggins verification:  **Please verify your current negative Coggins results for your horse(s) at registration. You will also need to present documentation at Parrie Haynes check-in.

Riders should be experienced novice to intermediate level riders or higher. Experienced trail horses preferred.

Age (of human): 8 – 17

All dogs must be on a leash.

Dispose of manure as instructed by ride management, per Parrie Haynes policy.

Pick up your trash.

Do not attach your horse pen to any permanent structure on the property such as fences or picnic tables.

Accommodations:

Electric sites: reserve through Parrie Haynes website.

Cabins: Parrie Haynes has several cabins available suitable for small groups. Reserve through Parrie Haynes website.

Meals:  A lunch of a hamburger/cheeseburger, chips, cookie and a drink will be provided, free of charge, to the participants.  We are also asking that you bring a side to share to round out the meal. A signup sheet for the sides is attached here. If the adult accompanying you would like a lunch, please let us know via email to Tiffany Janke.  They can pre purchase their lunch for $10 by sending payment via PayPal to [email protected] using Friends and Family.

Ranch fees

$10.00 per day per person, payable at PH check-in.

Ride/Clinic Fees

Youth riders:               $35.00 per rider + Ranch fee (payable directly to Parrie Haynes on arrival)

Adult “buddy” riders      Ranch fee only

Registration opens on the first of the month 90 days prior to ride (12/01/22).

In the case of a full ride, you can be added to the waitlist by contacting the ride manager directly.

Each person registering for a ride must have a separate login and password. You cannot register your relative on your login, you must create a separate login with a separate email address and register them separately. The comment section cannot be used for registering another individual.  This is necessary to maintain an accurate count of riders registered for a ride.

Your payment received 30 days prior to the ride secures your reservation.  If your payment is not received 30 days prior to the ride (02/23/23), your name will be moved to the waiting list.

Cancellation policy:

2.5 — Ride-Fee Cancellation Policy (From the rule book)

If you cancel:

2 weeks (14+ days) prior to ride—full refund

1 week (7 days) prior to ride—50%

Less than 1 week (7 days)— no refund

If  Management cancels  the ride you will receive a full refund.

If you have to cancel, scroll down and click, “cancel my reservation”.  Make certain you contact the ranch host and cancel any reservations you made directly with them for lodging arrangements.
