San Angelo State Park

September 25 & 26, 2021

Back by popular demand, history and nature converge at the San Angelo State Park on the banks of O.C. Fisher Reservoir and the Concho River. The park has 50 miles of multi-use trails, and is home to the official Texas State Longhorn Herd. The park also offers fossilized pre-dinosaur era tracks on its Permian Trail. Electric and primitive sites are available in the North Concho and Bald Eagle camping areas, where sites have pole tethers; some have pens, as well. You may also bring portable pens. Water is available in the camp area and along trails.

There are a few electrical sites. 4 in Bald Eagle (next campground over, easy ride to the trailhead) and 5 in North Concho. $20.00 per night/$40.00 for the weekend.

13 private primitive spots, a few have pens. $10.00 per night/20.00 for the weekend.

Big paved parking area, horses in your own pens on grass. $5.00 per night/10.00 for the weekend.

We will collect the $4.00 entry fee per person with your ride registration payment, and give one check to Park.

BBQ caterer on Saturday. $15.00 chicken and sausage, coleslaw, pinto beans, potato salad, pickles, onions, and bread

If you arrive before 5 pm you must go through South Entrance Kiosk and show coggins. Tell them you are with TTCC.
If you are arriving after 5 pm come directly to the North Concho campground and we will take your Coggins there. Let us know if you will be arriving after 10:00, as the gate will be locked. We will send the access code (it changes twice daily).

General Information and Requirements:

Everyone must show proof of negative Coggins test.  All dogs must be on a leash.  Dispose of manure as instructed.

Registration opens on the first of the month 90 days prior to the ride.

In the case of a full ride, you can be added to the waitlist by contacting the ride secretary, Kit Alexander directly at 210-722-0942 or [email protected].

Each person registering for a ride must have a separate login and password. You cannot register your relative on your login, you must create a separate login with a separate email address and register them separately. The comment section cannot be used for registering another individual.  This is necessary to maintain an accurate count of riders registered for a ride.

2.5 — Ride-Fee Cancellation Policy  (Note: new policy)

If you cancel:

2 weeks (14+ days) prior to ride– full refund

1 week (7 days) prior to ride– 50%

Less than 1 week (7 days)– no refund

If  Management cancels the ride, you will receive a full refund. 

If you have to cancel, scroll down and click, “cancel my reservation”.  Make certain you contact the ranch host and cancel any reservations you made directly with them for lodging arrangements.

Additional Fees: 

If not a member of TTCC you must purchase a daily membership at $5 or a full membership for $20, payable to TTCC.

To reach the park from San Angelo, take U.S. Highway 67 south to FM 2288 to the South Shore entrance or U.S. Highway 87 north to FM 2288 south to the North Shore entrance.
